If you've upgraded only the puakma.jar file (which is all you need) you will need to import the example app manually. The example app is in [installdir]/temp/example~journal.pmx when you run the latest installer.

To install it, fire up your browser http://yourserver/system/webdesign.pma (or use Vortex). Then pick File > Import. locate the pmx and upload it.
